Struggling department store Myer has signed on fast-growing make-up removal brand Face Halo, bolstering its supplier stable in the highly-competitive cosmetics category.
Face Halo, which launched its local presence earlier this year, will be available in 60 Myer stores across the country and online from this month.
The addition of an on-trend brand is good news for the department store, which said last month it was preparing to onboard a number of new suppliers after fashion brands Esprit Australiaand Metalicus said they would be winding down 53 Myer concessions.
It will also bolster the competitiveness of Myer’s cosmetics offer, providing it with access to a product that Priceline has been selling since February.
Face Halo will supply into Myer stores, but will not operate its own concessions.
Sue Price, Myer’s general manager of beauty, lingerie and cosmetics, said that Face Halo would add further strength to its beauty offer.
“Face Halo has garnered a cult-like following and we are extremely confident our valued Myer customers will be excited with the addition of this sought-after product that continues to take the world by storm,” she said.
Face Halo also has a dedicated Australian website, launched earlier this year, selling its one step make-up removal products for $30 per three-pack.
“We are thrilled with the launch of Face Halo in Australia by leading retailers Myer & Priceline and excited that so many Australians are choosing an effective, chemical free, environmentally better way to remove their make-up,” Face Halo co-founder Lizzy Pike said.
There are likely to be further supply agreement announcements to come from Myer in the coming weeks, after a spokesperson said earlier this month that the business was preparing to bring on a number of new partners.
“We are constantly in discussions with new brands to add to the Myer fashion offer and will make some exciting brand announcements over the coming months,” a Myer spokesperson said earlier in May.
